No! In fact, I recommend you dry out your flowers first before sending them.

Hang your flowers upside down in a cool, dry, dark place. Be sure they are out of direct sunlight so the integrity of the color is kept. They typically should be completely dry within 2 weeks.

Once completely dry (make sure they are totally dry so they do not mold in transit), simply place them in a box of appropriate size. Do not disassemble your bouquet.

Yes! Most bouquets I use are dried out and I have used many that have been years old!

It seems counterintuitive, but, yes, we can 100% use your bouquet to dye an heirloom kimono! Just be aware that your kimono will be more subtle and earth-toned. Also, greenery dyes better than flowers in many cases and you can get some really cool prints too! The more greenery and foliage the better!

Yes! The more flowers you have and send, the more heirlooms we can make. However, it does depend on what inventory I have available. If this is something you are interested in, please send an email to [email protected] so we can chat.

Hand-wash your heirlooms with cold water with minimal, pH-neutral soap. Lay them flat to dry. Warm iron or steamer is ok but be aware that too high of heat can damage silk. Do not dry clean your garments! Due to the nature of natural dyes and to keep your heirlooms long-lasting and vibrant, we also recommend not washing your garments every time you wear them.

The dyeing and curing process typically takes 4-6 weeks.
